Ada Mae Hill Baggett

Ada Mae Hill Baggett age 78 of Altha passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018. She was a native of Jackson County born on January 1, 1940 to the late Charlie and Floria Lewis Hill.  Ada Mae has lived 50 plus years in Calhoun County. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Billy B. Baggett, siblings Evelyn Baggett, Edna Brock, J.C. “Buck” Hill, and Donald E. Hill.

Ada Mae is survived by her son Michael B. Baggett and wife Robin of Altha, daughter Melanie B. Baggett and fiance John B. Hill of Marianna, brother Carlos L. Hill and wife Gladys of Marianna, grandchildren Hunter B.J.Baggett and wife Rena, special cousin Bruce Hill of Panama City Beach, and “other daughter” Judy Bodiford, as well as other nieces, nephews and friends.

Services for Ada Mae will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 29, 2018 in the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor Dustin Malphurs and Chaplain Flavious Pittman officiating. Interment will follow at 12:00 PM in Mount Olive Cemetery in Altha. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Emerald Coast Hospice, 3015 Jefferson Street, Marianna, Florida 32446, or charity of choice.

A special thanks to the nurses and staff at Jackson Hospital, Marianna Health & Rehab Center, and Emerald Coast Hospice for their care of our mother during her brief illness.

Tammie Louise Matteri age 56 of Graceville passed away on Friday, December 28, 2018 at Southeast Health Hospital in Dothan.

Tammie was born in North Carolina on March 19, 1962 to the late George Grant and JoAnne Allmond Budd. She had lived in Graceville for the past 29 years coming from Pensacola. Tammie enjoyed puzzles, cooking, crocheting, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Kathy Guinand, and one grandson Ethan Matteri.

Tammie is survived by her husband Frank Matteri, son Anthony Matteri and wife Penney Watkins, daughter Angela Guinand, brother Chris Clinton, grandchildren Jeremey Guinand, Emmalyssa Matteri, Nathan Matteri, Maddison Matteri, and one nephew George Guinand.

Memorialization will be by cremation.

George Garrison age 82 of Marianna died on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at River Valley Rehabilitation center in Blountstown Fl. He was born on May 2, 1936 in Palisades, New York. 

George was preceded in death by his wife, mother, grand daughter and a brother. 

He is survived by his daughter and caretaker Vicki Lewis; grandchildren and caretakers CJ Seymour and Savanna Lewis. George is also survived by 2 daughters, 1 son, 3 brothers.

Memorization will be by cremation

Lillian Mercer Hatcher

Mrs. Lillian Mercer Hatcher, daughter of the late Walter Wesley Mercer and Zular Nettie Morris Mercer, was born February 24, 1931 in the Rocky Creek Community and went to be with our Lord and Savior, surrounded by her family, on December 30, 2018. She was a long time dedicated member of Cypress Grove Assembly of God Church. She was united in holy matrimony to Charles Howell Hatcher, Jr., on March 27, 1953. Lillian and C.H.’s union was blessed with four children, Gene, Pam, Ruth, and Dennis.

Mrs. Hatcher was preceded in death by her husband, C.H.; parents, Walter and Zular Mercer; and her four siblings, Cecil Mercer, Doris Martin, Wynell Moats, and Edward (Shortie) Mercer.

She is survived by her two daughters, Pam Williams (Maxwell) of Marianna, FL., Ruth Wombacher (Doug) of St. Marys, GA.; two sons, Gene Hatcher (Marilyn) of Dothan, AL., and Dennis Hatcher (Margie Ford) of Grand Ridge, FL.; grandchildren, Jeffery Williams (Keisha), Ashley Williams (Wendy), Desiree Johnson (Josh), Ben Wombacher, Holly Wombacher, Stephanie Summerlin (Ricky), Deanna Newcomb, Corey Hatcher (Ann), Keesha Childs (Allen), Courtney Salem (Chris), Dixie Rountree, and Alex Ford. She was also blessed with 33 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; sister in laws, Emalene Hatcher and Barbara Hatcher; along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. 

Funeral service will be 10a.m. Friday, January 4, 2018 at Sneads First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Mike Allen officiating. Interment will follow in Cypress Grove Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 3, 2018 at Sneads First Assembly of God Church.

Wayne Carter, 63 of the Poplar Springs Community, Graceville, Florida entered into his Heavenly Home on Friday, December 28, 2018 following a courageous battle with cancer. 

Wayne was born in Miami, FL on May 26, 1955. A U. S. Navy Veteran, Wayne was a general contractor and worked a number of years with Eye Center South. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Wayne was a member of Faith Assembly of God Church where he has taught Sunday School for a number of years. He loved to fish, have family time and play ball with his daughter.

 A Celebration of His Life will be 3 p.m., Sunday, December 30, 2018 at the Chapel of James & Lipford Funeral Home. 

Family will receive friends 2 p.m. until time of service.

 Survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Nell Carter; three daughters Kim Carter, Katie Carter, Kylie Carter, Graceville; father Lawrence Wayne Carter, Anchorage, AK, mother Carlene Carter, Graceville; two brothers Joe Carter (Wanda), Norfolk, VA, Keith Carter (Mary), Graceville; one sister Barbara Ann Little (Bruce), Slocomb, AL; four grandchildren Maranda Carter, Mallorie Larry, Malachi Larry, Nicolette Welborn.

Virginia T. Moore, 82 of Chipley passed away, Friday, December 28, 2018 at Jackson Hospital following a short illness.

 Ms. Virginia was born in Noma, Florida on June 4, 1936 to the late James E. and Alma Tharp Teal. A graduate of Holmes County High School, Ms. Virginia was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, crossword puzzles, using her iPad and sweets. She will be truly missed…

Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, January 3, 2019 at the Chapel of James & Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Chester Padgett officiating. Burial will follow in Bethany Cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville directing.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home, Thursday, 10 a.m. until time of service.

Preceded in death by her son Guy Williams.

She is survived by one son Wesley “Dean” Williams, Sr. (Winnie), Panama City, FL; one grandson, Wesley D. Williams, Jr.(Erica), Chipley, FL; two great grandchildren Tinleigh and Evan; one sister Evelyn Ciota, Bronxville, NY; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friend Bob Espinosa, Sunny Hills, FL.

Donnie Fowler

Donnie Fowler, 68 of Graceville, FL passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at his residence following a brief illness. 

A Home-going service will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at the Chapel of James & Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Worley officiating.

Burial will follow in Marvin Chapel Cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville directing. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday 9 a.m. until time of service.

Donnie was born in Marianna, Florida on August 1, 1950 to the late Horace and Alyene Johnson Fowler. An alumni of Poplar Springs High School, Donnie retired from Colonial Bread Company and then Richard’s Trucking of Dothan, AL. Donnie loved working in the yards and in his flower beds. He was a longtime member of the Graceville Community Church.

Survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Alice Fowler; one daughter Amy Fowler(Diana Gonzales),Tucson, AZ; one son Craig Fowler(John Starr), Seattle, WA; one grandson, Michael; one sister Glenda Toole(Travis), Graceville; several nieces and nephews.

Carl H. Baker

Carl H. Baker, 84, of Cottondale died Sunday, December 30, 2018, at Southeast Health in Dothan with his wife by his side.

Carl was born May 26, 1934, in Chipley to Charley W. and Netta Dickerson Baker. He was a 1953 graduate of Chipley High School where he played football and baseball.  After graduation, Carl served his country as a member of the U. S. Air Force.  He was stationed in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan and for one year on a remote base (called The Rock) in Japan.

He retired July 1999, after working for 40 years with a military contractor on Elgin Air Force Base. Carl like being with and around people, fishing, and hunting.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, William Howell Baker, Marl W.  Baker (Virginia), and Alva R. Baker (Anneice); and two special nephews, Lonnie W. Baker and Eddie Murphy.

Carl is survived by his wife, Charlene Baker; one son, Charles Golden of Cottondale; two daughters, Allison Golden and Alisa Golden of Tallahassee; a sister, Helen Murphy (Jim) of Choctaw Beach, Florida; a sister-in law Ernestine Baker of Chipley; and several nieces and nephews.

Services for Carl will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at the Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Chipley with Rev. James Murphy and Rev. Arlester McCalister officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00-1:00 P.M.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.  Interment will follow in Pilgrim Rest Cemetery with Brown Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Mary Lena Wadsworth White age 81 of Marianna, Fl. went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday January 1, 2019 at her residence with her family at her bedside.

She was preceded in death by her husband Mr. Jake Sim White on January 24, 2018; and a sister: Henrietta Wadsworth Page on April 21, 2018.

She is survived by her sister: Christine Wadsworth Johnson; two special nieces: Kimberly Wadsworth and Linda White; sisters-in-law: Mamie Hill of Quitman, Mississippi and Annell Wilson (Leroy) of Marianna, Florida; brothers-in-law: Colonel (R) Ulysses X. White of Manassas, Virginia, Amos L. White of Cape Coral, Florida, James C. White (Katherine) of Miramar, Florida and Theroy N. White (Mildred) of Dallas, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 6, 2019, 3-7 PM, at the M. Sue and Rodney D. Pittman Memorial Chapel, 5441 Cooper Street, Graceville, Florida.

Mrs. White will lie in repose one hour prior to services.

A celebration of life will commence at 11 AM, Monday, January 7, 2018 at New Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 2870 Barnes Street in Marianna, Florida with the Reverend C. Swilley officiating.

She will be laid to rest in the Orange Hill Cemetery in Marianna, FL under the directions of Chrisitian Memorial Chapel of Graceville, Florida.

Mrs. Annie Laura McNealy of Sneads, Florida transitioned from life temporal to life eternal on Monday, December 31, 2018 at her residence.

Mrs. McNealy was a member of the Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church. She retired as a housekeeper from Florida State Hospital. To know her was to love her. 

Funeral service will be held Saturday, January 05, 2019 at 11:00 AM from the sanctuary of Second West Baptist Association 4110 Herring Avenue Marinna, FL 32448 with Reverend Riley J. Henderson, Pastor Carlos Jones, Pastor Isaac Williams, Chieftain Reginald Wilkerson and Reverend Eddie E. Bowers, Officiating.

Interment will be in Little Zion Cemetery in Sneads, FL.

Vann Funeral Home will be in charge of the service.

The viewing will be held Friday, January 04, 2019 from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Vann Funeral Home.

Virginia Blount

​Locally beloved and nationally acclaimed as a champion for children, Virginia Burch Blount passed away at home in Grand Ridge on Wednesday, January 2, 2019.

​Born to Ruby and Jessie Burch, Virginia grew up as the only sister to brothers, Kenneth, Jerome, Marvin, and Lafayette. In that family, she learned the value of hard work and the joy of loving.

​Virginia delighted in learning and planned, even in childhood, to become a teacher. After graduation from Grand Ridge High School she continued her education by earning a B.S. at FSU and later a M.S. and Ed.S. from Troy University. During her 42-year career with the Jackson County School District, she first taught elementary school at Grand Ridge then was named curriculum coordinator for the school. In this capacity, she was responsible for implementing the Open Court reading program which garnered national recognition for significantly increased student achievement.

​Subsequently, Mrs. Blount served as principal at Sneads Elementary where she led the school to distinguished “A” school status year after year.

​Mrs. Blount’s legacy rests upon her sincere desire to help and serve each child. Her generosity, concern and diligence made the difference as she was often an unsung heroine to both children and adults whom she helped whenever and however she could.

​Virginia is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Jerome, Kenneth, and Marvin. 

She is survived by James “Shorty” Blount, husband of 59 years, daughter, Miranda Hicks of Dallas, Texas, beloved grandson, Jameson Blount Maddox of Columbus, Ohio, and numerous nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Grand Ridge First Baptist. Interment will follow in Cypress Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. 

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Grand Ridge Baptist Church.

Mr. Marvin Cecil Andrews, of Vernon, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 28, 2018 in the Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare.  He was 75 years old. 

Marvin was born on July 24, 1943 to the late Rev. Sylvester and Jesse Mae Andrews in Millers Ferry, Florida.  He was of the Methodist faith and a faithful member of St. John A.M.E. Church of Vernon, Florida.  Marvin was a retired lineman working with Embarq and a veteran of the United States Armed Forces.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 50 years: Willie Mae Andrews of Vernon, Florida; one son: Gregory Andrews (Tamara) of Panama City Beach, Florida; two daughters: Rev. Pamela Andrews of Vernon, Florida and Patricia Andrews of Tallahassee, Florida;  seven grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren;  six brothers: Sylvester Andrews, Jr. (Barbara) of Mulberry, Florida, Larry Andrews, Michael Andrews (Morrisenia), David Andrews, all of Ocala, Florida, Bural Andrews (Dorothy) of DeRidder, Louisiana, and Jerel Andrews of Atlanta, Georgia; three sisters: Velma Murphy (Billy) of Lynn Haven, Florida, Esther Andrews-Jackson of Vernon, Florida, and Sheila Andrews-Aquaowo of Hinescille, Maryland;  aunt: Mary Jane Andrews of Red Bay, Florida; god-brother: Norman Peterson; god-sister: Min. Kathy Brown; along with a large host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. 

A Celebration of Marvin’s Life will be held 2PM CST, Sunday, January 6, 2019 from the sanctuary of the St. Luke A.M.E. Church of Vernon, Florida with pastor, Rev. Gloria Wynn, officiaiting.  Committal Service along with Military Honors will follow in the church cemetery with Cooper Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida, directing.

Mrs. Madie (Peterson) Brown, of Vernon, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on December 26, 2018 in the Washington Nursing & Rehab. Center of Chipley, Florida.  She was 89 years old.  

Madie was born on October 16, 1929 to the late Frazier and Lela Peterson in Ebro, Florida.  She was of the Holiness faith and faithful member of McQueen’s Temple First Born Church of Vernon, Florida.  

She leaves to cherish her memories five sons:, Alfred Peterson (Gloria Mae), Eddie Brown (Debra), Willie Brown (Cathy), John Brown (Erica), and Timothy Brown (Alice); six daughters:  Susie Potter  (Willie Lee), Lottie Mike (Bishop Edward), Gloria Peterson (Rev. Richard, Sr.), Brenda Peterson (Thomas, Jr. ), Debra Conner (Elder Don), and Connie Hawes;  along with a large host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. 

A Celebration of Madie’s Life will be held 11 AM CST, Saturday, January 5, 2019 from the sanctuary of the McQueen’s Temple First Born Church with pastor, Jr. Bishop J.O. Gary C. Jones

Gary C. Jones age 65 of Silverlake passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at his residence. He was born in Syracuse, New York on December 11, 1953. Gary had been a resident of the area since 1984 and was of the Christian Science faith. He worked thirty-five years as a ship Captain where he traveled all over the world. Gary enjoyed gardening, camping, and most of all, spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Jones; mother, Janice Gettman; step mother, Barbara Jones; wife, Linda Faye Jones and one brother, Reese Jones.

Gary is survived by his sons, Johnny L. Bachelier (Stephanie) of Cypress, Gilbert A. Bachelier (Christine) of Chattahoochee; daughters, Tina M. Paulk (Frankie) of Marianna, and Raymona (Gerald) of Silverlake; brother, Shawn Gettman of Panama City and cousin Genie Bopp of Houston, Texas. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and his beloved dog Goliath.

Memorialization will be by cremation.

Edward Thomas Watts

Edward Thomas Watts

Edward Thomas Watts age 90 of Merritt Island, Florida , formerly of Alford, Florida passed away on Friday, January 4, 2019 . He was born in Grand Ridge, Florida on February 20, 1928 to the late Edward Rainey and Flossie Myrle Watts.  Edward worked  and retired from the Federal Aviation Administration after thirty-one years of service.  He served in the United States Army Air Force during WWII and the Korean War. 

Edward is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He worked tirelessly on his family’s genealogy and loved helping others find their own ancestors as well, but his greatest enjoyment was witnessing to the prisoners at ACI and Malone Correctional Facilities. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Audrey Watts; sisters, Elle Mae Childs and Doris Virginia Branch.

Edward is survived by his wife, Geraldine Watts; children, Edward Thomas Watts Jr., John Franklin Watts (Julie), Jessie Randal Watts (Lori), Robert Alexander Watts (Cheryl), Barry LaGrand Watts, , and Tracey Janae Cline (Jayson); stepchildren, Edward Benjamin Rickers (Celeste), Terry Meyers (Becky), James Henry Rye, Gwydian Stone (Trinity), Elizabeth Jean Rye, and Ruth Renae VanWhy (Nick); sisters, Gwen Louise Burch (Lafayette) and Sallie Myrle Gable (Richard). He is also survived by nineteen grandsons, twelve granddaughters, and twenty-two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Marianna with Bishop Mark Sims officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on January 11, 2019 in the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.

Gregory Dean Taylor

Gregory Dean Taylor was born in Washington D.C. and at age 66, passed away in his home, on Thursday afternoon, January 3, 2019, in Chattahoochee, FL, surrounded by his loving family. Greg was diagnosed with cancer in April 2018 and was supported by friends and loved ones during his battle.  Greg has been a resident of Chattahoochee for 42 years, when he and his wife, Becky moved here from Mobile, Alabama. Greg was a member of First Baptist Church of Chattahoochee and retired from Jim Woodruff Dam as senior electrician after 32 years of service.

Greg is survived by his mother, Mary Taylor of Tybee Island, GA, his son Michael Taylor and wife Kaleigh with their daughters, Sophia age 4 and Chelsea age 1; his daughter Rachel Green and husband Jonathan and their daughters, Gradie age 5, and Mabrie age 1. Two sisters Debbie Lanier and her son James, Lydia Taylor and her daughter Alex and a special uncle from Connecticut, Frank Piccione along with extended family and many special friends.

Greg was preceded in death and eager to see his wife of 39 years, Rebecca Taylor, and his father Wallace Taylor.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to all of Greg’s friends and loved ones who checked in on him during his illness and to Covenant Hospice for their care in his last days.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at First Baptist Church of Chattahoochee, Florida on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at 3:00 PM EST with Reverend Barry Cottle officiating.  Visitation with family and friends will be held one hour prior to service. Interment will be private on a later date.

Willis Clinton Powell

Willis Clinton Powell, 79, of Greenwood, died Friday, January 4, 2019 at his residence.

Clinton was born May 22, 1939 in Jackson County, FL to the late J.W. and Lois Conrad Powell. He was a lifelong resident of the Dellwood Community where he spent many years farming. Clinton served in the U.S. Army and retired from the Florida Department of Corrections. He was a lifelong member of Welcome Assembly of God Church where he served as a deacon for many years.

Clinton was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Pearl Powell, Levon Fowler, and Mary Lou Tyus; along with his brother, Joe Powell.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria B. Powell; two sons, Willis Powell  (Kim), John Coy Powell (Tami); daughter, April Powell; brother, John M. Powell (Dianne); sister, Cora Strickland; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. 

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, January 7, 2019 at Welcome Assembly of God Church with Pastor Steven Subel officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel Directing. 

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Welcome Assembly of God Church.

Dean Carlton Phillips, 56, of Marianna, Florida died Friday, December 28, 2018 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.   He was born July 25, 1962 in Baltimore, Maryland.

Dean is survived by a brother, James Phillips of Tennessee; a sister, Carol Cummings of Chattahoochee, Florida; three nephews, Matthew Phillips, of Chattahoochee, Daniel Cummings of Sneads, and D. J. Ratajski of Grand Ridge; one niece, Cherilynn Evans of Pensacola; a great niece Amberleigh Miles, also of Pensacola; two great-great nieces, Annabelle Miles and Emilia Miles.

A memorial service will be 11a.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Ascension Lutheran Church with Reverend Steve Mazzaferro officiating.

Margaret Annette Singer

Margaret Annette Singer was born on October 7, 1937 and at 81, went to be with her Lord on January 6, 2019.  Annette began her working career at Florida State Hospital where she stayed for 18 years.  Upon leaving the hospital, she moved to Orlando, FL and worked at C.N.A. Insurance Company for 14 years.  After that she volunteered for the Orange County Sheriff Department for many years before returning to her hometown in Sneads, FL.  She then worked as a dispatcher for the Sneads Police Department for 2 years. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Grand Ridge, FL. Annette was an extraordinary woman who will be missed dearly by her friends and family.

Annette is survived by four daughters, Lynn Jeter (Billy Joe), Sharon Eubanks, Shirley Giddens (Dace) and Susanne Singer; one stepson, Stanley Singer; one sister, Anneita Gilbourn; fifteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and eight great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and two very special friends Christine and Ronnie Owens.

Annette was preceded in death by her parents, David Roy and Jewell Cooper; her loving husband, Stanley W. Singer Jr.; four Brothers Roy Jr., Bill Cooper, Maston Cooper and Dan Cooper; two grandchildren, Karen Hamm, and David Jeter;  and two son-in-law’s, Billy Eubanks and Bill Smith.   

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at McAlpin Funeral Home on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 11:00 AM CST with Rev. Dallas Ellis and Rev. Charles Kleiser officiating and McAlpin Funeral Home directing.  Visitation with family and friends will be held one hour prior to service.  Interment will be at Dykes Cemetery in Sneads, FL.

Mattie Gertrude (Hamm) Brown

Mattie Gertrude (Hamm) Brown was born April 16, 1932.  She was surrounded by her loving family, when God’s Angels escorted her to heaven on Sunday, January 6, 2018.  She will always be remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  Mrs. Brown was honored on October 7, 2018 at the Sneads Pentecostal Holiness Church as the oldest living member and in recognition of Faithful Service since 1959. 

Mrs. Brown is survived by her sons, Vincent (Jessie) Byrd of Sneads, FL, and Tommy (Karen) Byrd of Grand Ridge, FL; her daughters, Naomi (Jim) Brady of Newton, AL, and Sonja Braswell of Sneads, FL. She was a loving grandmother of nine grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Gracie Hamm, and her son William T. Waldroff.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Snead Pentecostal Holiness Church on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 3:00 PM CST with Rev. Jimmie Wright officiating and McAlpin Funeral Home directing.  Visitation with family and friends will be held on Wednesday from 6:00pm-8:00pm CST at McAlpin Funeral Home.  Interment will be private at a later date.
