Mr. Ricardo Macias - Tavares, 32, a resident of Greenwood, Florida passed away Friday, May 18, 2018 at his home in Greenwood, FL.  He was a faithful son, husband, father and provider for his family.  He loved his family dearly and considered his children to be his greatest accomplishments.  Ricardo enjoyed staying busy working, hunting, riding four-wheelers, driving his Can-Am Maverick, fishing, buying scratch offs, and listening to music; but most of all he loved to share and help others in need.  His father Victor said Ricardo was more than his son, he was his best friend, his lifetime partner and his right-hand man.  Ricardo will be deeply missed by his family, many friends and co-workers.

Ricardo is survived by his precious wife, Angelica Rodriguez; one daughter, Genesis Macias; one son, Jose Ricardo Macias; his mother, Maria Tavares; his father, Victor Macias as well as two brothers, Victor Macias, Jr and Miguel Angel Macias. 

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at McAlpin Funeral Home in Sneads, FL from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Central Time.  Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 12:00 PM Eastern Time in St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church in Quincy, Florida with Rev. Michael Somers officiating.  Interment will follow in Pope Cemetery with McAlpin Funeral Home directing.

Bettye Ruth Wood

Ms. Bettye Ruth Wood of Marianna entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 26th at Jackson Hospital in Marianna.  She was 69 years old.

 A native of Jackson County, she was a 1969 graduate of the Jackson County Training School fighting Panthers.  She was an avid sports fan, her favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys.   Bettye was a loving sister, a caring aunt and friend.  She will be deeply missed by many.

 Precious memories will forever remain with one daughter, Taquana Renee’ Wood of Manteca, California; three grandchildren and one great grandchild; two sisters, Edna Williams Swilley of San Jose, California and Sylvia Diane Williams of Tallahassee, Florida; one brother, Gary Eugene Williams of New Orleans, Louisiana; special friend, Rocky Swilley Summers; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

 A service of remembrance will be held Saturday, May 26th at 10a.m. at the pavilion at Citizen’s Lodge.  Words of Comfort will be given by Rev. Glorida Borders Wynn and Rev. Ohara Johnson; reflections will be given by family and friends with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.

Edna Earl King, 84 of Marianna, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2018 at her residence.

Ms. Edna was born in Malone, FL and was a lifelong resident of Jackson County. She worked at Sunland for many years before retiring as a supervisor. She was of the Holiness faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Grice and Minnie King and her daughter, Sandra Tharpe.

She is survived by her son, Wallace King and wife, Mindy, of Marianna; four daughters, Gwen Martin, and husband, Phillip of California, April Jonas of Marianna, Becky Porter, and husband, Mike of Marianna, Charlene Hinson, and husband, Rich of Lake Placid; one sister, Lottie Haney, and husband, John of Seagrove Beach, FL; eight grand children; 13 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel with Pastor Terry Broome officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.

The Family will receive friends one hour prior to services at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel in Marianna.

He was a former employee of Alltell/Verizon.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church with Minister Joshua Williams, Minister Genoa Williams, Rev. Willie Barkley and Rev. L.V. Farmer, Pastor Officiating.

Interment will be Gethsamane Church Cemetery.

The viewing will be held Friday, May 25, 2018 from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Vann Funeral Home.

Sonja was born-March 4, 1968 to Willie A Ford, Sr. and Lillie B. Ford.  Sonja attended the public schools of Gadsden County and later continued her education at Lively Technical Institute where she became a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was a loving and devoted mother to one daughter.  She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Aviance M. Nancy Highsmith

Life began for Mrs. Nancy Highsmith of Greenwood, Florida on June 8, 1933 in Greenwood, Florida to the late Ben and Odell Williams Sims.  She entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 19th at home.  She was 84 years old.

 A native of Jackson County, she was of the Baptist faith and a member of Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church.  She retired from the Dade County Public School system as a bus driver.  Upon relocating back to Greenwood, she worked for the Jackson County Public School system as a bus driver and worked several years, before retiring again.

 Love and precious memories will forever remain with her husband, L.D. Highsmith of Greenwood, Florida; two daughters, Regina Harris and husband Richard of Greenwood, Florida and Selena Highsmith of Miami, Florida; four sons, Cecil Highsmith, Steven Highsmith both of Marianna, Florida, Luman Highsmith and wife Tiffany of Clearwater, Florida and Marcus Highsmith and wife Lattica of Richmond, Texas; daughter-in-law, Venus Highsmith of Miami, Florida; son-in-law, Blake Moore of Greenwood, Florida; two sisters, Gehazel Sims of Greenwood, Florida and Edna Golden (Jimmy) of East Orange, New Jersey; two brothers, Ben Sims, Jr. of Greenwood, Florida and Edward Sims and wife Eloise of Irvington, New Jersey; one aunt, Callie Sims of Greenwood, Florida; 32 grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

 A homegoing celebration will be held Saturday, May 26th at 11a.m. at Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church where Rev. Dwight Cockerham, Sr. is Pastor.  Rev. Kevin Williams, Rev. Jesse Douglas, Rev. Jordon Williams and Rev. Dr. Isaac Williams officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna

 The ramains will lie-in-repose for one hour prior to the 11a.m. funeral time on Saturday at Mt. Tabor.

Eddie Lee Mosley

Mr. Eddie Lee Mosley of Chipley, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 12, 2018 in the Moffitt Cancer Center of Tampa, Florida.  He was 72 years old. 

Eddie was born on November 27, 1944 to the late Eddie W. and Mary (Keith) Mosley in Ochlocknee, Georgia.  He was a faithful member of the St. Joseph A.M.E. Church of Chipley, Florida where he served in many capacities until his health began to fail him.  Eddie served his country honorably in the U.S. Army fighting in the Vietnam War. After 20+ years of service he retired and then became employed with the Washington County School District as a School Bus Driver.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 51 years: Mary Lucille Mosley of Chipley, Florida; two children: Erika Mosley of Tallahassee, Florida and Erik Mosley & his wife Sandra of Pensacola, Florida; five grandchildren: Aaron, Eddie III, Elijah, Azavaughn and Savannah; one great-grandchild: Everett Jay; two sisters: Willie Mae Garrett and her husband Roy & Earlene Bell; along with a host of other relatives and friends. 

A Celebration of Eddie’s Life will be held 11 AM CST, Saturday, May 26, 2018 from the sanctuary of the St. Joseph A.M.E. Church of Chipley, Florida with pastor, Rev. Linda Ellis, Bishop Alec Richardson, Bishop Craig P. Riley, Rev. Sinclair Forbes, Rev. Larry Brown, and Rev. Alice Clark, officiating.  Committal Services will follow in the church cemetery with Full Military Honors performed by the Ft. Rucker Honor Guard and the Cooper Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida, directing.

DORIS MARIE (DOWNING) FRENCH Date of Birth: March 3, 1923 Date of Death: May 20, 2018

 Doris Marie (Downing) French, 95, of Seminole, Florida, formerly of Marianna Florida passed away at home in Seminole, Florida on May 20, 2018. Doris was born on March 3, 1923 in Chicago Illinois, the daughter of George Franklin Downing and Francis Alberta (Shipman) Downing. Her two brothers George Henry Downing and Robert Allen Downing predeceased her. Doris met Harlo Albert French Jr. (Bud) through a mutual friend and they were married on July 21, 1943. 

Bud predeceased her on June 28, 2013. They were married 70 years and had two children, Melinda Louise (French) Frazier and Annabelle Lynne French. Doris is survived by her two daughters Melinda (Doug) Frazier of Port Orchard, WA and Annabelle French (Bill Rasbold) of Seminole, Florida, her granddaughter Susan (Frazier) Larson and three great grandchildren, Daniel, Erin and Andrew Larson of Gig Harbor, WA. After living in Tampa Florida for many years and raising their daughters Doris and Bud retired and moved to Marianna, Florida in 1980. They lived there for over 30 years. In 2011 they sold their home in Marianna and moved to North Carolina with their daughter Melinda and son in law Doug Frazier. After 8 months they then relocated back to Florida to an Assisted Living Facility. Upon Bud’s death in 2013 Doris moved in with her daughter Annabelle French and partner Bill Rasbold. She remained there until her recent death. The walls in her room were covered with the pictures of the family she held so dear. Doris loved to garden, read and draw, helping Bud with many of his furniture plan drawings. She kept photo albums of all the ancestors and had a keen mind on their names and stories of their lives. She was very dedicated to her family. Doris was a very capable, determined and loving wife and mother. She enjoyed good health until close to the end of her life. She will be remembered with much love and be dearly missed by her family and friends. Funeral 

Services for Doris will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, May 30, 2018 in the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends one hour prior to services.

Michael Riley Torbett

Michael Riley Torbett, age 17, of Marianna, FL, met his Savior face-to-face May 22, 2018, following a fatal ATV accident. 

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Gloria Porter Peacock, and paternal grandmother, Diane “Doodle” Glaze.

Riley is survived by his parents Rex & Dana Torbett, two brothers Austin & Caleb, maternal grandfather Bill Peacock & wife, Cynthia, and paternal grandfather Jack Torbett & wife, Murel, all of Marianna, FL, Aunts Stacey Schultz & husband, Russ, of St. Louis, MO, Christy Lemmons & husband, Mike, of Mills River, NC, Stacy Davis & husband, Scott, and Uncle Kindall “Buddy” Torbett & wife, Janie, all of Marianna, FL.  He is loved and will be missed by a magnitude of family and friends, especially the Marianna High School Bulldogs, Class of 2018.

Riley had a fierce passion for Jesus and enjoyed the fellowship and community of Evangel Worship Center in Marianna. One of his greatest joys was serving the Lord, over the past five years, in Nicaragua, Central America. In fact, he was to spend the summer in Nicaragua as an intern for Project H.O.P.E., Inc. 

Riley was a serious student and was to graduate with honors May 24, 2018, fourth in his Class with a 4.0 unweighted GPA. Some of his accomplishments include Distinguished Bulldog Award, Executive President of Student Government Association, National Honor Society, Beta Club, Marianna High School Athletic Committee, Captain of the Varsity Soccer Team and 2018 Offensive MVP.

Riley was an avid sports enthusiast. He enjoyed soccer, cross-country, volleyball, football, and more. One would be hard pressed not to find him and his family at a baseball field for either school or travel ball. Many precious memories were made with family and friends enjoying boating and water sports at Round Lake.

Though every member of his immediate family bled garnet and gold, Riley had no trouble going against the grain, cheering for the Auburn Tigers. War Eagle!

Riley had plans to attend Troy University as a Chancellor’s Award Scholarship recipient. He planned to declare a major in Biomedical Sciences with the long-range goal of becoming a physician specializing in emergency medicine. 

Celebration of Life service will be Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the Marianna High School Gymnasium. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.

The family will receive friends Friday, May 25, 2018, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Marianna High School Gymnasium. They have requested the omission of flowers and that memorial contributions be made to Project H.O.P.E., Inc., 1419 S. Enterprise Ave., Springfield, MO 65804

Kenneth Wilmer McCormick, of Marianna, passed away peacefully, Thursday, May 24, 2018, at the age of 79.

Wilmer was born on July, 28, 1938 to Mark and Lizzie McCormick. On September 28, 1957 he married Jeanette Hires. Wilmer retired from over 40 years serving the farming community at Goldkist and Monsanto. Wilmer enjoyed fishing, hunting, working cows, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Wilmer was preceded in death by his parents, Mark and Lizzie McCormick; three brothers, Jim, Roy, and Pete McCormick; two sisters, Evelyne Henley and Lorane Smith.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Jeanette; six children, Glenda Pooser, Brenda McCormick and Kim Goodwin, Morgan McCormick, Patricia Williams and husband, Michael, Mike McCormick and wife, Shelly, Russ McCormick and wife, Stacey; grandchildren, Amy Tedeschi and husband, Jim, Ashley Merrifield and husband, John, Chris Williams and wife, Kayla, Zach McCormick, Blaire Blondheim and husband, Cameron, Ashley Masterson, Mason McCormick, Kristin Yon, and Kaycee Yon; great grandchildren, Evan and Logan Tedeschi, Ava Blondheim, Charlie Gates, and Easton Neel; two sisters, Catherine Blasi and Coreen Jackson.

Amanda Gayle “Sterrett” Edenfield, 37, of alford, died Thursday, May 24, 2018 at her residence.

Amanda was born October 25, 1980 and was a long time resident of Alford. Amanda loved and was loved by her kids, family, and friends. She loved life and making others smile.

She is survived by her mother, Tonia Demarco Foxworth and husband, John Foxworth; father, Steve Leo Sterrett; three sons, Jake, Brad, and Lucas Edenfield; maternal grandfather, Oscar Van Brown and wife, Jean Brown; siblings, Malinda Self, Audrey Sterrett, Tiffany Sterrett, Steven Sterrett, Ron (Melissa) Syfrett, Stephanie (Daniel) Rogers, Tonia (Lorenzo) Castro, Tabitha Foxworth, Rani Demarco, and Amanda Demarco; along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Cottondale First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Chris Franklin officiating. Interment will follow in the Alford City Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.

Deidre Ann Kemper, 40, of Marianna, died May 24, 2018 at home surrounded by her family.

Deidre was born August 4, 1977 and was a lifelong resident of Jackson County. She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Judith Ann Sloan; sister, Toni Lynn Kemper, and her maternal grandparents, Harold and Ella Perrine.

 Survivors include her husband, Daniel Guerrero; daughters, Gabriella Jasinta and Kaitlyn Guerrero all of Marianna; sisters, Ramona Gilley and husband, Paul “Eddie” of Sneads, Pamela Sebastain and husband, James, Stacey Kemper all of Marianna; brother, Paul Kemper and wife, Jeannie of Alford; seven nieces, four nephews, and three great nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, May 27, 2018 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.

Albert Gilliam “Gil” Lowe III

Albert Gilliam “Gil” Lowe III, 70, of Marianna passed away peacefully, Friday, May 25, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loved ones after a long, hard-fought battle against cancer.  

Mr. Lowe was a native of Chipley, FL and resided in Jackson County for the past 40 years.  He was employed with the State of Florida’s Agency for Persons with Disabilities (Sunland), a place where he so dearly loved and cared for his residents.  He retired in 2010 after 38 years of service. 

Gil is preceded in death by his father, Albert Gilliam Lowe, Jr. and his brother, Aaron Bryan Lowe. He is survived by his precious mother, Martha Northcutt Hammond; his beloved and devoted wife of 40 years, Barbara Suggs Lowe; one brother, William “Bill” Lowe of Tallahassee, FL; two sons, Bryan Lowe (Emily) of Marianna, FL and Russell Lowe (Bethany) of Tallahassee, FL; two grandsons, Aaron Lowe and Wyatt Lowe and one granddaughter, Audrey Lillian Lowe.

He graduated from Auburn University in 1970 with his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and from the Florida State University in 1972 with his Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology.  Those who knew him knew how much he loved all things Auburn, a spirit and love that he passed on to his sons.  WDE!   

Gil was a fighter and a doer.  He said he had a wonderful life with Barbara and his family and wanted nothing more than for them to be happy.  He enjoyed photography, traveling, dining, golf, coin and stamp collections, and all things Auburn.  Gil is most remembered for his smile, laugh and charisma; qualities that so many remember him by.

A memorial service was held 10 a.m. Monday, May 28, 2018 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.  The family will receive friends after the service.

Ida Faye Carlson

Ida Faye Carlson age 79 of Graceville passed away on Friday, May 25, 2018 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. She was born in Duneaton, Florida on July 2, 1938.Ida has been a resident of Graceville since 2003, coming from Lutz, Florida. She enjoyed gardening in her flower beds and painting.

Ida was preceded in death by her husband John Carlson; parents John and Sally Faircloth; sons, Lynwood Majors and Charles Author Majors; grandson, Ryan Majors.

She is survived by her son, John Majors; grandchildren, John Jr. Majors, Jordan Majors, Nicole Granger, Charles Majors, Lance Majors, Seth majors, Michael Majors, Matthew Majors, Kasey Majors and a host of great grandchildren. 

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Saturday, June 2, 2018 in the Williams Funeral Home with Pastor Nick Chisler officiating.

Cason Wesley Hatcher

Cason Wesley Hatcher age 12, of Marianna, passed away on May 24, 2018 as a result of an accident.

Cason was a life long resident of Marianna, a member of the First Baptist Church and attended Marianna Middle School. He was 100 % boy, active in track, soccer and many school activities.  Cason enjoyed going to work with his Dad and spending time with anything with a motor. 

He was preceded in death by his maternal great grandparents Richard and Effie Mulder and Art Sluis; paternal great grandparents Jessie and Lucille Hatcher and Clayton and Lee Rooks.

Survivors include his parents, Wesley and Christy Mulder Hatcher, his twin brother Clark Richard Hatcher: sisters Halee Michelle Hatcher and Aniston Caroline Hatcher all of Marianna: grandparents Richard and Lynne Mulder of Marianna and Angus Hatcher and Carolyn Rooks Nobles of Marianna; great grandmother Marilyn Sluis of Palos Heights, Illinois; Uncle Michael Mulder and wife Kristie, aunts, Terri Glass and husband Grant Glass, Tami Huston and husband David Huston and Christen Givens and husband Steve: cousins, Camden Bennett, Tanner, Tristan, Treyson and Talee Mulder, Ellery and Garrison Glass and Rykar, Harper and Kylar Huston: and numerous great aunts and uncles and cousins. 

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. in the Evangel Worship Center with Pastor Jeff Powell and Pastor Lavon Pettis officiating. A private interment will follow in the Sink Creek Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held on Monday, May 28, 2018 from 5 to 7 P.M. at the Family Life Center of the First Baptist Church of Marianna.  Marianna Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 

Donations may be made to the First Baptist Church memorial youth fund in memory of Cason Hatcher.

Irving E. Ellis

Mr. Irving E. Ellis, 65, a lifetime resident of Chattahoochee, Florida passed away peacefully Monday, May 28, 2018 in Marianna, FL.  Irving enjoyed fishing, relaxing on the beach, and cheering on the Seminoles; but most of all enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.  He will be deeply missed by his family, and many friends.

Irving is survived by his sister, Debra Pfaff and her husband Daniel of Springfield, Missouri; three nieces, Danielle Avery and her husband Keith, Melissa Pfaff, and Amy Lynn Pfaff; one nephew, Rodney Ellis and six great nephews.

Irving was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Bonnie Myrtle Ellis and one brother, Norman Ellis.

Visitation for friends and family will be held Saturday, June 2, 2018 at McAlpin Funeral Home in Sneads, FL from 12:00 PM CST until the beginning time of the Memorial Service at 1:00 PM CST with Rev. James Swafford officiating.

Gloria Jean Pittman, 73, of Marianna, died Friday, May 25, 2018 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. She enjoyed sitting on the porch, listening to country music, and was happiest with a table full of family and friends, and grandbabies in her lap. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wiley George Pittman, and her parents, Albert and Irene (Baggett) Alday. 

Survivors include her children, Donna (Ronny) Jurgonski, Robert Hagan, and John (Robin) Hagan; four sisters, Judy Chason, Frieda Hollis, Becky (Kenny) Drummond, and Seena (Mike) Griffin; two brothers, Buddy (Jennifer) Alday, and Steve (Sara) Alday; and many nieces and nephews. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren include Ashley, Tim, Baylor, and Isla Barber; T.J., Gabe, and Layla Jurgonski; Tara and Tyler Addison; Tessa Jurgonski; Robert Hagan; Randall (Carly) Hagan; Jonathan Hagan; Chloe Stubblefield; Harley Stubblefield; Phoebe Stubblefield.

Ted ‘E’ Johnston

Ted ‘E’ Johnston died in Commerce City, Colorado while traveling throughout the United States. His death occurred on March 27, 2018.  He is the oldest child of Heyward Lynn Johnston and Ada Johnston Brown.  Ted was born in Lakeside Hospital in De Funiak Springs, FL. Ted grew up in Marianna, FL, and graduated from Marianna High School an honor student, wrestled on the MHS squad, and played football with the mighty Marianna bulldogs.  He was voted most valuable player for the bulldogs in 1982, his senior year. Ted was attended the United States Military Academy at West Point, graduating in 1986.  While at West Point, he played on the 150 lb. Football Team and was also on the West Point Boxing Team.

While at the academy, Ted maintained excellent grades, earning him selection for the Aviation Branch and flight training in Army helicopters. After earning his wings at Fort Rucker, AL, he served in South Korea, stationed in Seoul.  While there, he got to fly celebrities like Bob Hope and the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, etc. to entertain the troops.  During his Aviation career, he also executed other important missions, such as delivering supplies to the Soldiers on the front lines and conducting casualty evaluation operations.

After serving in his tour the Army, he chose to return to civilian life.  He attended Emory University in Atlanta, GA, where he earned his Master’s Degree.  Following his military service, and follow-on graduate education, Ted served in various positions to include managing a paper manufacturing company, serving as a pharmaceutical sales rep, and then later serving in New York on Wall Street trading stocks. When Ted moved back to Marianna, FL, he went back to school and received his real estate license.

Ted loved sports, fishing, and computer games.  Most of all he loved the time he had with his children.  Ted was preceded in death by his daughter, Tess Noel Johnston, His father, Heyward Lynn Johnston, his maternal grandparents Joe and Lyndal Hicks, his paternal grandparents James Wilmer and Mattie Pearl Johnston.  Ted is survived by his son Jeb Red Johnston, Mother, Ada Johnston Brown, Sisters Cynthia Lynn Martinez and Sylvia Matthews and Brother Frederick Joe Johnston. He will be greatly missed by his Aunts, Uncles, cousins, his high school friends and his West Point Family of brothers.

Ms. Ellene Branch Johnson, 78, a lifelong resident of Grand Ridge, Florida passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Monday, May 28, 2018 at her home in Grand Ridge, FL.  She loved to garden and cook for her family as well as watch game shows on television especially The Price Is Right and Wheel of Fortune.  Ellene was a faithful homemaker, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother.  She loved her family dearly and most especially loved “family time”.  She will be deeply missed by her family, and friends made throughout the years.

Ellene is survived by two sons, James Lamar Johnson and David Douglas Johnson and his wife Patricia; one brother, Bobby Branch; five grandchildren, Kayla, David Jr and his wife Tessa, Patrick and his wife Summer, Deanna, and Brody; four great grandchildren, Ty, Sam, Rhett and Benjamin as well as many nieces and nephews.

Ellene was preceded in death by her parents Wilmer and Ellen Weeks Branch; her husband James Douglas Johnson; a brother, Jimmy Branch and a granddaughter Sky Johnson.

Visitation for friends and family will be held Friday, June 1, 2018 at McAlpin Funeral Home in Sneads, FL from 10:00 AM CST until the beginning time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM CST with Rev. Michael Murray officiating.  Interment will be in Shady Grove Cemetery with McAlpin Funeral Home directing.
