Benjamin Alexander Pickens was born on December 16, 1959, and died on July 1, 2017, at the age of 57 in Marianna, Florida.
Ben was born in Tallahassee, Florida. He was a graduate of Chipola Junior College and attended Florida State University. Ben retired from Florida State Hospital in Chattahoochee where he was a security officer. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Chattahoochee.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ronald O. Pickens and Patricia Wood Pickens; and his brother, Thomas Wood Pickens.
He is survived by his daughter Abigail Patricia Pickens of Tallahassee, Florida; a brother, Ron Pickens (Jennifer) of Sneads, Florida; two nephews, Cody Scott Pickens of Sneads and Tyler Owen Pickens (Stephanie) of Chipley, Florida; and a niece, Madison Emilee Pickens of Sneads, Florida.
The graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. EST on Friday, July 7, 2017, at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. The family will receive visitors immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Ben Pickens to the First United Methodist Church Operating Fund, 18 West Marion Street, Chattahoochee, Florida, 32324.
