
Mr. Jerome Garrett, affectionately called Rome, of Greenwood, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 3rd at home of his sister with his family at his side. He was 63 years old.
He was a native of Jackson County, of the Baptist faith and was a member of Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church. He resided in Miami for several years, working in the construction industry. After retirement, he returned home to Greenwood.
Precious memories will forever remain with one son, Tyrone Durden of Gainesville, Florida; two daughters, Rashonda Collins of Trenton, New Jersey and Nicole Durden of Gainesville, Florida; one brother, Coley Garrett Jr. and wife Mary of Miami, Florida; two sisters, Josephine Garrett Gray and Nellie Black both of Marianna, Florida; six grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A homegoing celebration will be held Saturday, June 10th at 1p.m. at Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Dwight Cockerham Sr. and Rev. William Harvey officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.
